How to Choose a Loose Diamond Trader in Asia

Asia has no shortage of people who will say they trade diamonds. The useful question is whether they can repeat a calibrated, certified parcel for Hong Kong, China or Bangkok without rewriting the spec after you have booked the setter.

Use this checklist. It is how we would want a factory to judge Tanush Creations — and how we judge ourselves.

1. Can they name the shapes they actually hold?

A trader who stocks everything stocks leftovers. Ask for the cut list. Ours is five: Round, Baguette, Taper, Marquise, Pear. If you need something else, a straight “no” is more valuable than a maybe.

2. Is every stone certified?

Trade buyers do not buy stories. They buy stones that match a certificate and a millimetre list. Uncertified filler slows customs and disputes. We work 100% certified stock.

3. Do they quote millimetres or only carats?

Channel and pavé programmes fail on width, not on a total carat number. A serious trader asks for millimetres first. Carat is a consequence.

4. Is the address real, and is it the only one?

Name, address and phone should match across the site, invoices and maps. Fake “offices” in three countries are a ranking trick, not a supply chain. We have one office: Tsim Sha Tsui. We export to Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Bangkok from there.

5. Will they say no?

If a trader never refuses a spec, they are padding parcels. We source when the shelf is short. We do not invent availability.
